About Me…

Jamison Woodward, LMSW, LCSW

I became a psychotherapist to help people build lives of meaning while moving through a world that can feel heavy and imperfect. My work blends extensive life experience with formal university and clinical training, giving me a grounded and practical approach to healing.

My practice is rooted in two core ideas: posttraumatic growth and the belief that what we call “weaknesses” are often the shadow sides of our strengths. I often use proverbs, stories, and examples from media to help make new concepts feel relatable and clear.

Relationally, I show up with directness and compassion. I aim to balance tact with truth, and I’m comfortable moving between soberness and humor as we navigate your experiences together.

In our work, we’ll explore who you are, who you’ve been, and what you’ve survived, then use that understanding to map out where you want to go.

My Experience

I’ve had the privilege of working with people navigating a wide range of challenges, including:

• Anxiety, social anxiety, depression, obsessive‑compulsive disorder, bipolar disorder, and related concerns

• Trauma from childhood experiences, domestic violence, military or law enforcement service, sexual assault, human trafficking, or multiple sources

• Couples working through relationship difficulties, whether or not trauma is part of their history

My training and experience are rooted in evidence‑based approaches that create real, lasting change.

My role is to help you:

• Understand the roots of your struggles

• Learn practical skills that support long‑term growth

• Build healthier, more connected relationships

• Explore your inner dialogue to challenge distortions and uncover truth
• Develop confidence in your ability to navigate future challenges

We do this work together, at your pace and in the direction you choose.

I’ll offer guidance and suggestions, but you remain in control of your healing process.
